1 Year Old Eli

Yay!! Eli turns 1 today...how time flies and my precious lil' guy is growing up so fast!

Happy 1st Birthday my cutie pie...Daddy, Mummy and KoKo Ethan love you very very much....hugs and kisses...

As of 8th March Eli weights 9.05kg and is 75.5cm in length...more about him in my next entries especially on his 1st Birthday Bash and his Baptism. Stay tune ;p

I got a pleasant bday surprise on my bday and the title above was what exactly written on my bday cake thanks to my dearest and not forgetting cheeky friends at work... but as I said am not afraid to tell my age..that is why u can see the cake wt these wordings (ignore my name spelling error hehe..) and all the candles on it here ;p BTW the cake is super yummy and only 8 of us shared that whole big piece from SR! Very rich cheese cake and oh so yummmy...indeed we were very happy and satisfied lot!!! ;p

Apart from this, our company had the usual bday month party at work where there are only 2 of us who shared the same birth month (if there was no change of management I would be the only one who's bday falls on August oh..huhuhu...)...bday wishes were also happily received via FB and SMS...As for hubby, he was away for work on my bday but he paid for my shopping last Saturday as my bday gift which I have no complain at all hehehe...so folks, that is my bday story for this year :)

Birthday celebration

We celebrated Uncle Tony's 66th birthday last Sunday at the Emperor Restaurant and while Ethan was having so much fun with the cousins ...Eli was 'socialising' with other extended family members especially from hubby's side...more pictures in my FB :)

and oh...talking about birthday...I turned 39 yesterday!! Looking foward to the big 40 next August and yes I am not afraid to tell my age nor do I feel ashame about it!! ;p what I wish more is to grow old gracefully and hopefully as I age I will be a much stronger and wiser person. So here cheers to myself!! :)

Noah's Fullmoon

Time flies and before we realised, Baby Noah celebrated his fullmoon on 1st Aug. Ethan of coz as usual had so much fun during the party.. eating, playing, discovering and 'bullying' his cousins and new friends ;p

As for Eli, it was the first outing for him...previously we didn't bring him out much except to MIL's , the clinics or doctor due to the inconvenient cause by his reflux..but now that his reflux is almost gone we can enjoy bringing him out more :)

Ethan's 3rd Birthday

We initially planned to celebrate Ethan's birthday at his playschool this year. Unfortunately hubby was away for almost 3 weeks and only managed to come home exactly on Ethan's special day in the evening. So we had a small celebration just among us at PIL's last nite instead :)

I wanted to have Elmo cuppies or cake to bring to his playschool...since that was cancelled I ordered cheese cake from Strawberry Cakehouse instead...

Gong Xi Gong Xi in the Roaring Year...

We've been quite busy for this year's CNY...it was almost like a CNY marathon celebrations as we've been house visiting since CNY eve with the last one just last Saturday..although it was only 1 house per visit but we stayed on for quite a while in each house...Such an eventful for us :)

1st Day CNY - Open house at Uncle Tony & Aunt Grace home


2nd Day CNY - Crystal's 7th and Zac's 3rd birthday party cum CNY celebration. We would have gone to another open house next to my parents' house but unfortunately it clashed with the birthday party which we've already committed earlier...


3rd Day CNY - CNY celebration at my best friend's home - as usual I'm the only non-family member around and after marriage I am (plus my own family now..) still always the non-family member around but I don't feel ackward as I always feel at home with all of them :)

8th Day CNY - Open house at Uncle Wong and Aunt Roslyn house

We had a bit of interruption during the lion dance...initially the dance troupe and hubby's cousin arranged the mandarin oranges, cans of beers and chinese vege as above...

But b4 the lions continue their stints, Ethan without much thinking, quickly decided to re-arrange the mandarin oranges as above without permission...sigh... this boy really has a mind of his own...tsk tsk tsk ;p

It was tiring for me but it was good to see how much fun Ethan was having during all those visits especially the lion dance last Saturday :)

The preps

I didn't spend much preparation time for Ethan's birthday as we have already planned to have it at one of the halal Chinese restaurants in KK. Hence not much preparations were required. Nevertheless, two weeks to Ethan's birthday, both hubby and myself discussed about the venue for the party. We short listed the venue to 3 i.e. Dowish Seafood Restaurant, Golf View Restaurant (near Tong Hing) and Masakan Sedap Restaurant. After looking at their menu, price and venue we eventually picked Masakan Sedap Restaurant as we feel the price and food is reasonable. On top of that it has strategic location being quite in the centre for most of our invitees and parking is not a problem. Besides I heard the service is good too and after seeing the function room and talking to the lady boss we made our mind up ;p

Next I thought about the theme... Well, I didn't intend to impose the theme on the invitees but rather more for the cake :) And since Ethan is so into Mickey Mouse, I've decided to ask Deana (she baked Ethan's 1st birthday cake too..)to bake and decorate him a Mickey Mouse cake :) I did a search on the net just to get some Mickey Mouse birthday cake ideas which I stumbled and decided to go for this design and asked Deana if she could do a replica for me which she said yes :) Next, I was contemplating whether to prepare goodie bags for the kids or simply give away cupcakes. In the end I've decided to go for a Mickey Mouse cuppies and ordered them from Deana too. It's much simpler and easier for lazy ol' me as I won't need to hunt for the goodies and bags and no packing is needed too ;p And as usual it is a common practice or a tradition to have red birthday eggs during birthday celebrations. I however dislike the thought of using colorings thus I've decided to use decorated aluminium foil to wrap the eggs after stumbling upon this Mickey/Minnie Mouse aluminium foils from this online shop while looking at some cookies mould/cutters. And finally as I wanted to distinguish the birthday boy and the main table from the rest, I've asked my friend Jurra to put embroidery wordings on his plain top and decided to tie a helium Mickey Mouse aluminium balloon on our main table ;p So what do you think of the outcomes? Am I allowed to say its simple but not too bad? ;p

One happy lil' customer indeed! He cried and said "no, no, no" and tried to push the waitress from cutting the cake for distribution! That's how much he loved the cake Deana!! hahaha...

Oh talking about the cake, lil' princess of Sandra i.e. Maya, didn't want to budge at all from her seat coz Sandra said she is afraid the cake and the limited purple Minnie Mouse cupcakes will dissapear!! So kudos to you Deana for a job well done!! And oh did I mentioned that the kids were so eager and rushed to the front when I invited them!!?? hahaha...They must have loved and really impressed with your cake and cuppies Deana...not only the kids but the parents too :)

His helium Mickey Mouse baloon was a hit too...the other children were playing with it till it got untied and stucked on the ceiling. Luckily one of the waiters was kind enough to help bring it down and tied it back on the chair ;p

Ethan's 2nd birthday bash

To mark Ethan's 2nd birthday, we threw a party for our precious lil' Ethan. We celebrated his special day with our immediate family members, some relatives as well as some close friends and colleagues. We honestly wished we could invite more people but due to budget constraint we will have to fulfill that desire another time ;p Anyway, here is the video taken (thanks to Ulai!) during the birthday song and birthday cake cutting session :) I'll blog more about his birthday party and share some photos later on okay ;p

The kids were pretty eager and rushed to the front when I announced and invited them for this session...must be due to the mighty cute Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake design and not forgetting the Mickey Mouse cuppies (thanks to Deana)which they have been eyeing and waiting to get hold of hehehe...you'll notice I have many helpers while cutting the cake hahaha..

A day to celebrate

Today is the day my hubby turns a year older...36 years old to be exact :) so Happy Birthday Darling!!! Muaaahhh...too bad hubby is still offshore ...we'll just have to postpone the celebration till he comes home then ;p

But then again, since we have 2 Alvins (hubs and my bro who happened to share not only the same first name but also their middle name...strange but it's an interesting fact hehe..) that would do isn't it!!?? hahaha....

Joshua said "Hi-5"

My nephew Joshua a.k.a Uaua turned 5 last month...to celebrate his special day, we had a small family gathering at the Royal China Restaurant. It has been a while since all of us were able to sit together for a meal... so it was a nice gathering and we certainly had a wonderful time especially with the karaoke performances by the birthday boy himself and his cousins despite Ethan who just can't stay put and kept unplugging the mics ;p

Jewel of the Js Family

One of our dear colleagues, Jo, who is the wifey of Mr. Badak gave birth to a beautiful baby girl with a lot of number 8 on her baby's birthdate i.e. 28.08.2008 at 1.08pm. What a lucky girl she is eh and a cutie too! :) Anyway, we joined her parents together with their family and friends to celebrate Jewel's fullmoon last Saturday at the Js' residence. Baby Jewel Trinity is such a lovely baby as I don't remember her making a fuss throughout the party when Ethan and myself was there...and I'm glad that Ethan is friendly with most people so I can let them take turn to carry him coz as I previously mentioned before his 11kg weight is a bit too heavy for me after a short while especially when hubby was not present ;p

..then there were Suzan who was holding Sona, Deana again with my precious Ethan hee...and the other queen of cake making, Faye who together with Deana baked and designed the gorgeous birthday cake for Indy & Maya...

..so was Miranda and her ever so adventurous Avi who without any warning decided to jump into the baby pool just outside the venue upon arriving... which I guess that incident must have almost caused any mommy a heart attack ;p

soon after that it was Pinata time!! So the kids excitedly gathered around the Pinata hoping to grab as many candy as possible and put them in the awesome boxes provided by the host...a top secret box for the boys and a princess box for the girls..

..besides the candy grabbing, the little ones enjoyed doing the coloring ..too bad Ethan is too small to enjoy this hehe..next time ya sweet heart ;p
